With the recording finished, Ai-chan, Rinrin, and Nene-chan leave the dubbing booth.
“Rinrin’s acting today was amazing! That last line—『Your sins will be judged by me!!』—gave me total goosebumps! And Nene-san’s character was super cute too!”
“N-No, not at all! Ai-chan’s heroine role was flawless! The way you conveyed so much emotion with just the single line 『I love you』 was honestly a new discovery for me.”
“Exactly. As expected of the most in-demand voice actress right now. I’ll have to work harder too.”
The girls exchange impressions about each other’s performances.
Through the 『Kimizora』 Season 2 anniversary event held on the day I proposed to Ai-chan half a year ago, it feels like their bond has grown even stronger.
I call out to the three of them.
“Good work today, everyone.”
“Ah, Kanata! Nice work! It’s rare for you to come all the way to the set, huh?”
“Yeah. I just happened to have some free time.”
I reply to Ai-chan, who runs up to me with a happy smile.
Lately, we’ve both been so busy that we can’t stay at the same work sites anymore.
I have to look after other voice actors as well, and Ai-chan—after her popularity exploded thanks to her role as Mikoto in 『Kimi to mita sora』—has now become a top-tier voice actress said to be the best in the industry. At home, we’re together, but at work, we’re often apart.
Of course, when I can, I come by like this to check in on her, but──
“Oh please. You say that, but you clearly forced yourself to come because you were worried about your wife, right?”
“Yeah, totally! That’s so passionate, Kanata-senpai☆ As expected of newlyweds!”

“Something to tell us…? Is it about work?”
“Yeah. Actually, another job just got decided. And it’s something that involves Rinrin and Nene-chan too.”
Saying that, I turn my face toward the two of them.
Some time ago, they both transferred to the same agency as me and Ai-chan—『Light Road』. And I’m the one managing them.

Rinrin and Nene-chan ask with puzzled expressions.
I smile and tell the three of them.
“Congratulations. The audition from the other day—you all passed.”

At the beginning of this month, the three of them auditioned together for the same project, just like they did back during 『Kimizora』. And each of them passed for different roles.
Back then, Rinrin and Nene-chan also successfully landed sub-heroine roles during the 『Kimizora』 audition. It’s the same kind of situation now.
“Kanata! Really!? All of us passed?”
“Yeah. All three of you. You’re going to be even busier from now on. Recording won’t start for a while yet, though.”
“A-Amazing…! Yay! I’m so happy!”
Overwhelmed with emotion, Ai-chan jumps up and shouts.
“We did it, everyone! That means we’ll get to work together even more now!”
“We just finished recording 『Kimizora』 Season 2, so I was feeling a little lonely. Let’s all give it our best!”
Rinrin and Nene-chan chime in excitedly as well. The three of them hold hands, then end up hugging each other together. Watching them, I said, “That’s great.”
And then──suddenly, Ai-chan starts crying.

“A-Ai-chan!? What’s wrong all of a sudden…!?”
“N-No… it just feels really emotional…! Like… I’ve really made it this far…!”
Wiping at her eyes, Ai-chan looks at me with a smile soaked in tears.
“Just a few years ago… I was a voice actress on the brink of failure… Someone who was almost about to get fired… such a useless voice actress… And now, getting work together with everyone like this makes me so happy… It feels like more happiness than someone like me deserves…!”
“Ai-chan…”
That’s not true—! Just as I’m about to say it, Rinrin and Nene-chan speak up first.
“Ai-chan isn’t useless at all! You worked harder than anyone and climbed your way up to becoming a super popular voice actress! You’re amazing—and you’re my goal!”
“I think so too. Ai-chan is incredible. You fought through the toughest times without giving up.”
“Ehehe… thank you, both of you… But the reason I made it this far isn’t because of my own strength… It’s because you supported me on set!”
Her words make me recall the 『Momoiro LIPS』 set—the first time the three of them worked together.
Back then, when Ai-chan struggled to perform well, the two of them desperately supported her. Because of that experience, Ai-chan is who she is today.
“And… because I had you too, Kanata.”
“Eh…?”
Ai-chan turns to face me and leans in closer.
“Thank you, Kanata… for always supporting me… And that proposal back then made me so happy too.”

Rinrin and Nene-chan grin as they watch us.
Ignoring them, Ai-chan hugs me tightly.
In the end, I hug her back—wearing a happy smile I can’t possibly hold back.
