[Vol 1] The Secret Life Of An Honor Student Afterward
Hello to all my readers. This is Mitsuki Kurage.
This work, 『Yuutousei no Ura no Kao』 (The Secret Life of an Honor Student), is a revised version of the one serialized on Shousetsuka ni Narou and Kakuyomu. In preparation for the print edition, I’ve also added new, original scenes, so I believe even those who have read the web version will be able to enjoy it anew.
I originally wrote this story as a pure love romantic comedy. Their meeting and the start of their relationship may be impure, but the feelings they develop are genuine—and I think that makes it pure love in its own way.
An honor student who hides the face of a ura-aka girl—Mamiya Yuu. And the protagonist who becomes entangled in her secret—a woman-wary boy, Aisaka Akito. Just where will their impure yet pure love lead them?
I can already picture Akito being toyed with by Yuu’s selfish whims, but I hope he does his best. That said, I’d also like to see Akito fight back once in a while. After all, they say the one being loved holds the upper hand in romance… though Yuu still seems to have the advantage either way. Well, that’s just how it is.
Even so, I never imagined that an idea that came to me in the middle of the night would one day become a book and reach readers like you. It really pays to jot down your ideas as memos—forgetting them after waking up is an everyday occurrence for me…
Now then, from here on are my words of gratitude.
To my editor—thank you for pulling this story out from the vast sea of the web and safely guiding it to publication. When we were working together, I was still before my debut and didn’t know left from right, but I’m sure I’ll continue to cause you some trouble in the future as well. Please continue to take care of me.
To KR-ki (kuroki) sensei—thank you so much for drawing Yuu, Akito, and the other characters so adorably and full of charm. Your illustrations went far beyond what I had imagined, and I’m deeply grateful for that. I’ll continue to do my best so that my writing doesn’t lose to the brilliance of your artwork. I look forward to working with you again.
To everyone at GA Bunko, the proofreading team, all those involved in the production of this work, the readers who picked up this book, and those who have supported me since the web version—thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
Once again, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who had a hand in this book. Truly, thank you so much!
I look forward to the day we can meet again.
