Tsun'na Megami-sama to Darenimoienai Himitsu no Kankei Prologue
When you go to an all-boys school, you might make some great friends but, you’ll have to give up on getting a girlfriend or living a colorful teenage life.
There are no girls from other schools hanging around, and it's not like our guy friends can introduce us to any girls either. Honestly, all I could do was admire girls from afar, and imagine what it would be like to talk to one.
Around here, I’ve never heard anyone say they have a girlfriend. All I ever hear about are guys spending their youth in clubs or doing part-time jobs.
—But lately, things have started to change.
There’s something different in the air. Not just in my class but in the whole school.
Of course, I’m caught up in it too.
One day, while I was just sitting quietly at my desk, my best friend and classmate, Minase Junya, came up to me with an excited look on his face.
“Yo, yo, yo! Hazuki! Did you hear?! About the school that’s merging with us?! There’s a crazy rumor going around about the student council president from Shiramine High!”
“So loud... Yeah, I already heard about her.”
As I said earlier, our school—Kuroba High—is an all-boys school with zero connection to girls.
But since it’s in a small town, the number of students keeps dropping. So starting next year, our school is merging with Shiramine Girls’ High, the closest all-girls school nearby. No wonder the guys are losing their minds.
Shiramine is a well-known girls’ school around here. It’s full of rich girls and daughters of company presidents. Their school is on a whole different level from ours—in academics, status, and pretty much everything else.
Honestly, someone like me has no business getting involved with them. But even so, I can’t help feeling nervous. We’ve all spent our days in an all-boys school with no girls in sight, and now we’re suddenly going to be in the same building. Of course, everyone’s on edge.
Junya, with his dyed brown hair, kept going on about the student council president.
“She’s like a goddess! Super pretty, smart, athletic, and totally loved by everyone. Her name means something like ‘a snow flower blooming in a winter palace’—Yukimiya Hyouka. Can you believe we’re going to the same school as someone like her?!”
“Yeah, yeah, I get it. You don’t have to drool.”
“Aw, come on! Shouldn’t you be the most excited out of all of us?”
I was a little excited. But when someone next to me gets too hyped, it kind of makes me calm down instead.
Junya pouted at me, then suddenly threw his arm around my shoulder with a grin.
“Still, you’re lucky, you know? You’ll be working with a girl like her, right? Since you’re the student council president, Yatsuhashi Hazuki~!”
“If you’re jealous, why don’t you join the council too?”
“What? No way. Too much work. Only crazy people would volunteer for that.”
...Should I choke him a little?
I shook his arm off, grabbed my bag, and started heading home.
Yeah, like he said—I’m the current student council president of Kuroba High.
Normally, after the merge, we wouldn’t be needed anymore. But since it’s a boys’ school merging with a girls’ school, the principals figured there would be a lot of challenges. So, both student councils were told to keep working together until our term ends in October.
To be honest, none of us are really happy about it. Even the council members feel like we’re just being forced to do it.
Anyway... for now, I just hope nothing goes wrong.
Though, honestly—I’m really worried.
🔸◆ A few months later ◆🔸
“Alright then, let’s begin the first joint meeting between the Shiramine and Kuroba student councils.”
Her voice was clear, her posture perfect, and her expression serious.
She looked like a fairy tale princess. No, more like an angel.
She stood there, so elegant and confident, it felt like nothing could ever touch her.
That was my first impression of Shiramine’s student council president, Yukimiya Hyouka.
Her long hair sparkled like a galaxy under the evening sunlight. Her figure was slim—maybe a bit on the modest side—but somehow that only added to her charm.
The rumors were right. She was absolutely stunning. Beautiful and cute at the same time.
Meanwhile, the guys on our council were an absolute mess.
Our guys weren’t used to sitting across from girls—especially one as beautiful as her. Everyone was stiff, nervous, and awkward. The usual energy of our all-boys group had completely disappeared. They looked more like cats thrown into a stranger’s house.
Me? Of course I was nervous too. Don’t underestimate the social skills of a teenage guy who’s spent years without even talking to a girl.
While listening to Yukimiya’s opening speech, I tried to calm myself by looking down at the pamphlet we were given.
That’s when I noticed the uniform I was wearing.
At Kuroba, we wore black. But now, I was wearing a white blazer. Since Shiramine didn’t have any boys before, they had to make a new uniform just for us. It still felt weird.
Anyway, none of that really mattered right now.
Because sitting right across from me was Yukimiya Hyouka.
A girl like a goddess.
And between us... something was about to begin.
Something I could never tell anyone.
Reading through the school guide in the pamphlet, I could see that every facility here looked grand and beautiful. It was like the whole school itself was a work of art. No wonder people called this place a school for noble girls.
The word “noble” really did suit Yukimiya. She looked perfect in every way. The way she spoke gave off this graceful aura, and even her movements seemed super elegant. At least, that’s how it felt to me. Then again, I’ve never actually seen “elegant” movements in real life before, so who knows.
Even though a few people were giving her jealous looks, Yukimiya kept her calm, beautiful expression like it was nothing. Holding a document in her hand, she explained the situation in this super composed voice—like she’d rehearsed it.
“Due to the declining number of students at Kuroba High, a decision was made to merge with Shiramine Girls’ High. As a result, both student councils will now operate side by side. However, the Kuroba council will continue its activities to help foster friendship between the two schools, starting with today’s joint meeting—”
Ugh... this is way too formal! Is she a robot or something? Look at our council members—completely lost. Our meetings usually go more like:
“Let’s do this!” → “Yeah!”
That’s it. We’re totally not used to this kind of stiff atmosphere!
Yukimiya kept talking seriously. I knew she meant well, but if this continued, we’d never get anywhere. Even the guys who were enchanted by her voice at first were starting to doze off like they were listening to a bedtime story. Their eyes were literally closing one by one.
Honestly, I was getting sleepy too. No way I could keep listening to this forever.
Still, I was the student council president of Kuroba. I had to do something.
I raised my hand to speak—but Yukimiya hit me with an scary icy glare.
“...President Yatsuhashi, please go ahead.”
“Sorry for cutting in, president Yukimiya. Your opening was fine, but maybe we should move on to the main meeting now? If we keep going like this, we’ll be stuck forever. I thought today was more about casually discussing what we’re going to do next?”
Our council members started nodding.
But the moment Yukimiya glanced at them, they froze and looked away.
Come on, guys! Back me up here! Don’t chicken out now!
...Well, I kinda get it.
Yukimiya’s stare was intense—like she was looking through us.
It kind of felt like she looked down on us...
...No, wait. That’s probably just in my head. Maybe we’re just feeling insecure and imagining things.
Still staring without a change in expression, Yukimiya looked straight at me. I didn’t back down either and met her eyes. Looking away would be admitting defeat.
...Wait, what is this? A staring contest?
“...You’re right. Then let’s begin the meeting.”
Phew... Thank goodness she gave in.
If she had stayed stubborn, this meeting would’ve been a disaster.
Yukimiya stood up, walked over to the whiteboard, and began writing in beautiful handwriting.
“Today’s meeting agenda is: Getting to Know Each Other. We’re planning a simple event to help both schools bond. Let me share my idea first—”
Ooh, a bonding event? That’s a great idea.
Maybe like a fun field day or something? That could really help us get closer.
But… with how different our schools are, what kind of event would actually work?
If they suggest something like writing poems together, we’re doomed.
Then, Yukimiya said something totally unexpected—
“All student council members will go on a school tour. I’ll explain the school’s history at several locations, and afterward, you’ll do a stamp rally to collect stamps from each spot.”
......
Wait, what?
Did she just say—tour? History? Stamp rally? …What?
My brain stopped working for a second.
Looking around, the guys on our side looked just as shocked. Eyes wide open, mouths hanging—yeah, I wasn’t the only one confused.
Right I’m not the only one who thinks this is weird
I raised my hand again. Yukimiya gave me her signature cold stare—but still said:
“Yes, go ahead.”
“Um…soo... president Yukimiya, do you actually know what bonding means?”
“Of course. It means being friendly, making friends. You could also call it building connections or relationships.”
No, no, no—that’s just a dictionary definition!
Ugh, whatever. Let’s just move on.
“With a stamp rally, do you seriously think that’ll help us get closer?”
As I asked, everyone turned to look at Yukimiya.
She… she doesn’t actually think that, right?
Or wait, is this a joke? Maybe she’s trying to break the tension with a silly suggestion?
“Yes, I do think so. Is there a problem?”
“You’re… serious?!”
I looked over at the other Shiramine council members.
None of them looked like they had a problem with her idea.
Maybe one or two gave awkward little smiles, but that’s it.
Okay… so Yukimiya Hyouka isn’t just serious.
She’s super serious. No, maybe the better word is rigid.
She looked right at me again—this time clearly annoyed.
“Then, President Yatsuhashi—do you have a better idea?”
Crap. I totally dug my own grave...
Of course. If you’re going to object in a meeting, they’ll expect you to give a better idea.
I had no choice but to come up with something—quick—while trying not to offend her.
“I think it’s a great idea to have an event that helps us bond. Especially since none of us know each other yet.”
“Exactly. That’s why I suggested a stamp rally—”
“……Yeah, but a stamp rally doesn’t really feel like something high school students would enjoy. And learning about your school’s history doesn’t really help us get closer. What matters is that we show the rest of the school how well we’re working together. If we, the student councils, seem divided, then the other students will feel the same—and that’ll only make things worse.”
My team backed me up with a firm nod.
Meanwhile, On the Shiramine side… I could sense they weren’t too happy about it, but they seemed to understand my point.
“Oh? Then what’s your genius plan to bring us all closer, president Yatsuhashi?”
“If we’re talking about bonding, I think the most important thing is just getting to know each other. Like, maybe we could all bring some snacks and hang out in the student council room. That alone would be a good start, don’t you think?”
“Bringing snacks into the student council room isn’t allowed.”
“Okay then… how about we bring our lunches and eat together? That should be fine, right?”
“......Well, that might be acceptable…”
Okay, now’s my chance to turn things around.
“Sometimes the best way to bond is just by spending time together without pressure. We don’t always need some big, fancy plan to connect with people.”
After all, we’ll be attending the same school and going to the same classes soon.
There’s no need to rush the whole “let’s be friends” thing.
We don’t have to be super close or anything. I just hope we can make the path a little smoother for those who come after us.
[TLN: Talking about the future student council]
We just need to be the ones who start it off.
As that thought crossed my mind… Yukimiya looked straight at me with a completely blank expression.
That stare. It’s terrifying.
That’s not the kind of look you give another human, right?
Feeling awkward, I looked away for a second.
Then, one of the girls from Shiramine spoke up to Yukimiya, trying to ease the mood.
“President Yukimiya… I think President Yatsuhashi makes a good point. Maybe it’s better to start slow, and let the connection grow naturally, instead of forcing it with a formal event right away.”
Yukimiya stayed quiet, placing a hand gently on her lips, thinking deeply.
“------”
For a second, I thought she looked really cute...
—No, no, what am I even thinking!? She was just deep in thought, that’s all!
But somehow, in that moment, the world seemed to fall silent, as if holding its breath for Yukimiya Hyouka’s next words.
The warm light of the afternoon sun shone through the window, wrapping around Yukimiya like something out of a dream. She looked so beautiful and elegant—it really felt like I was watching a scene from a movie.
Without realizing it, I swallowed hard and kept staring at her. Then, her eyes shifted—just slightly—but it felt like her gaze cut right through mine.
“All right, then. For our first bonding activity, we’ll each bring our own lunch and eat together. We’ll do it this Friday, here in the student council room.”
As Yukimiya spoke, the secretary quickly wrote it all down on the whiteboard.
Friday, huh... I’ll need to think about what to pack. Instead of something boring, maybe I should go with something a little special.
While I was daydreaming about my lunch menu, Yukimiya glanced around the room.
“Any other concerns? …No? Then that’s it for today’s meeting. Thanks, everyone.”
Once she ended the meeting, the atmosphere immediately loosened up.
As soon as the meeting ended, the Kuroba group made a quick exit. Honestly, I didn’t want to stick around either.
Man… why do I feel so drained? It wasn’t just the pressure. It felt like Yukimiya’s words—and that piercing gaze—had worn me down completely.
Everyone else seemed to feel the same. I heard them grumbling as we walked out.
“This is nothing like the rumors…”
“Who said she was like a goddess?”
“She is pretty, sure—but her personality’s way too intense…”
Yeah, I get it. I was shocked too.
Junya once told me that if someone was having a hard time, Yukimiya would gently approach them, offer a warm smile, and say something kind to cheer them up. Like some kind of goddess, right?
But in reality? She was more like an ice queen than an ice goddess. One glance from her could freeze your soul. Still, I can’t deny it—she really is beautiful.
Even so… talking behind someone’s back like this isn’t cool. I’m not saying I want to defend Yukimiya or anything, but in this situation… I probably should.
“She’s trying to reach out to us in her own way. Let’s not badmouth her.”
“But, President—”
“No buts. Anyway, if you keep talking like that about girls, don’t come crying to me when your high school life ends without a single girlfriend.”
“““Long live President Yukimiya!”””
Hah… Look at these idiots.
As we walked out through the school gate, I glanced up at the main building of Shiramine Girls’ High School—no, it’s just Shiramine High School now, since the name changed this year.
That clean, white exterior really suits the name “Shiramine.” It looked so fancy and pure… Honestly, I felt completely out of place here.
With a sigh full of defeat, I looked up—and my eyes met hers.
Yukimiya Hyouka. She was standing on the balcony, bathed in the light of the setting sun. Her presence was so striking, so elegant, she looked like she belonged in a painting.
A gentle spring breeze brushed past, making her long hair sway softly.
She really did look like a goddess just then. So beautiful it was almost unreal. If I hadn’t seen her true personality earlier… I might’ve actually fallen for her on the spot. She’s dangerous.
Somehow, neither of us looked away. It felt like whoever broke eye contact first would lose. Though, I had no idea what this weird contest was even about.
We kept staring for a while… until someone inside the student council room called her name, and Yukimiya turned and went back inside.
Heh. I win. …Though seriously, what was that all about?
“President? Something wrong?”
“…Nah, nothing.”
I didn’t have time to think about Yukimiya anymore. I adjusted my bag strap and headed straight home.
